How do I sign up??? Can't Post

Hello!

I am an avid beader and have been a member of a monthly bead club for two years. Dissapointingly the bead club closed. in November. I am having withdrawals!

I am very excited to find this club. How do I sign up?

Hi,

Which club were you a member of that closed?

We are reorganizing everything, and will have new details out after the first of the year.

If you just can't wait, we do have some older kits still laying around, and would be happy to make one available to you if just can't wait ;)

We've looked at the variety of bead clubs around the web, and some I can't figure out, others are obvious in their motives, and most seem geared to exisiting customers who just want a variety. Very few, if any, seem really targeted to avid, rabid, addicted, beaders :)

Offering 6 to 12 colors in a monthly package, just doesn't seem to be enough :)

We are adjusting our offerings a little to make a lower priced entry, pretty much fewer tubes, or spaced out every 2-3 months, rather than every month.

We are also looking at "Bead Club" cards, which allow you to pick up a new tube of beads in our shop every month, or have it included in your order. The purpose is to generate a little excitement on "odd" beads or beads you might not usually try. Sometimes, if you have them, in hand, you'll see what you can do with them.

We are also going to combine the gemstone and seed bead clubs with Swarovski and Silver to give an offering of a mix of beads, stones, and center pieces to expand your creativity.

Our goal is *NOT* to send you a kit every month you can make a neat little project out of, but to send you a selection of beads that will enhance, expand, and empower your existing bead stash.

We are also looking at perhaps putting some "suggested" projects on-line for each bead kit, so that we can spark your creativity. Again, our goal is to get you started making your own stuff, not copying, or mimicing something we suggest.

Really, we wonder (always) what the price point is people want to spend on their beads every month. It may sound snobby, but $20 just isn't enough to make this sort of club work. $40 is closer, and $60-$75 is about right, which is why we targeted that range. It might sound high, which is what puts off some people, but at $20, you can get 10 tubes of inexpensive beads, or only 4-5 tubes of better beads. Some beads are close to $10 a tube, and 10 grams of Delicas can be anywhere from .20-1.00 a gram! Many retailers sell them for more than that.

At $40, you get a wider range, and beads that are $3-4 a tube are now in the company of 8-10 other tubes

At $60, you have 15 $4 tubes, or 20 $3 tubes, or the ability to get a good mix of beads in different sizes, shapes, and materials (gemstones, bone, glass, metal).

It's kind of like owning an RV. If you've ever compared models, going up by even 1 foot (like from 25 to 26 feet, or 26 to 27 feet), can turn a cramped not-so-livable space, into something completely open and completely different. Small things, (especially in beads) can make a lot of difference.

Beads are not cheap. There _are_ cheap beads, but they don't belong in this sort of club.

This message is getting long, and covering many different points, so I'll stop it here.

There are a lot of new beads on the way, and there are a lot of great beads out there already. 2005 clubs promise to be very exciting.

Hello!!

I was a member of the fatcat_online bead club.

I am completely with you on the quality bead idea. $60.00 or so really isn't bad for good beads. After all those of us who bead with avengance have learned the hardway that we get what we pay for. I don't mind spending more; expecially if it's not every month. I join bead cubs to get the odd variety of beads for my stash (billions :})that I might not come across or think to pick up. Semetimes it's that odd bead or group of beads that sends me in to a creative frenzy. I will galdly wait for your re-organization. Just keep me posted!!
