Softflex vs Accuflex vs Beadalon Can't Post

This is an issue some people feel very strongly about.

We use Accuflex in our shop, (though we do carry some softflex and beadalon). Our reasoning is that we've never had any trouble with Accuflex, it's guaranteed fully, and that sort of warranty has implications on its quality.

People talk about "drape" in a variety of contexts, but for all practical day-to-day purposes, once you put beads on the wire, fish line, or fiber, the weight of the beads takes over.

Some nylons and wires do have more body than others, and using light beads can give a pleasing, or irritating, effect depending on your use.

But, if you are stringing 10mm gemstones or glass, with sterling, you will not notice much "drape" difference between any material! But you will notice a wear difference, and durability difference using an 0.024 wire vs an 0.019, or fishline.

I should take a new gander about what new fishlines are out there, and update my article from 2 years ago.

In the wash, though I took a *LOT* of heat for recommending Fireline over all the others, especially Power Pro, I stand by it, and so do most of the bead workers who have come through our shop in that period -- even those who did not read or see my article.

Fireline seems to be the hands-down (on?) favorite :)

Your comments are welcome.
