Welcome to Spring! Can't Post

Things have picked up a lot here, and maybe it's a touch of Spring Fever?

Time to do something with the beads in your drawers, or create something new!

With the Easter holiday upon us, we have a lot of crosses in hematite and other materials, that are priced to sell. These can be put on a simple cord, or attached to an existing chain.

We also have a lot of "pink" beads in, in various materials -- glass, rhodochrosite, rhodonite, and others. Pink seems to be the recurring color of the season.

This year they say bright colors are in, and we've got them! Great colors that pick up the sun, and many gemstones will glow slightly in sunlight (UV radiation). Their colors get brighter, or more intense.

Seafoam or Opal glass runs from the milkey white, to clearish, and has a gold to blue fire. It can be worn all day, and into the night, and takes on the look of the moment -- casual or dressy. It's amazing stuff, and we've got many sizes, shapes and grades! Not all of this material is made to high standards. It's the highest priced coating Swarovski makes (except for the gold) and various companies make it to different specs. We have some really nice high-grade pieces for necklace or earring use, as well as a range of more moderate (lower grade) materal for casual use or long-runs of chips or shapes. We've also gotten in some odd faceted shapes, but they are going fast. It goes well with silver, gold, red, blue (deep blue, or denim), deeper pinks and materials from glass to coral. This gives you a wide range of beads and materials to mix with it, and an infinite way to wear it.

We have a load of new donuts, and "go go" style donuts, which have an eccentric hole. These go great on a black cord, and you can embelish it with knotwork, large-hole beads, crow beads, silver, and much more. It's a casual look that's always in, and has come back big time, with kids of all ages -- from 8 to 80.

This summer we WILL be holding classes, on a schedule, aimed mostly at kids and young people, but everyone is welcome. We'll also be starting up a rock tumbling session, on a weekly basis, to make people more comfortable with their tumblers, and turning rough, ugly rocks into smooth, polished, pretty ones.

Our http://beadnews.com site is fleshing out, and we'll be updating it daily with news about beads. Many articles will disappear as the news services remove them, but others will be permanant.

We'll be setting up http://beadcause.org to promote the various causes that have used beads to give hope. Many are cancer related, but others are simply dexterity for the disabled, or a means to work your way out of poverty. Stay tuned!

UpBead.com and OffBead.com will give stories of hope and fun about beads and beading, and beading humor, respectively.

So, a lot is coming this spring, stop by, and Cheer up and bead! It works better than almost anything else!
