WOW have things changed! Can't Post

I was looking at the pictures of our shop, and while I remember, them, I realized they look nothing like we look today.

Could really be another shop!

I will do my best to get new photos uploaded this weekend, and on-line by monday.

Our beads inventory is 20x the size, our store is 10x more cluttered <G> and we have work areas and so much more!

You've seen all the pretty photos of the brightly lit stores, with beads around the walls and a display case or two. Forget that! We can't get enough lighting in, our beads are everywhere --walls, tables, floors -- and most people say it looks like their home or work rooms ;)

You get the idea.

If after your 2nd hour of your 10-minute visit (and you still have room in your tray) you haven't found what you are looking for -- ask! We don't bite (pugs don't bite -- unless it's food), and we might have it -- usually right where you were looking. Our beads are like our customers -- some don't seem to ever want to leave -- so they hide, play tricks, and scamper away when you aren't looking! (Our bead trays have straight, high sides to prevent as much of that as possible.)

Please -- if you were thinking about a class in bead stringing, weaving, crochet, looming or such, talk to marie. Her time is filling up fast (faster than we thought it would!) We might have to start to schedule group classes if this keeps up.

And remember some things *NEVER* change! --- help while you are making something in our shop is free! Crimping and finishing help is FREE! We'll even crimp work you bring in for the cost of materials -- or bring your own crimps. We'll TEACH you how to do it! Thursday nights is still learn-to-crimp and use wire night. If you can't figure something out from a book or magazine, bring it in, and marie will do her best to help figure it out. (Call first, make sure she's in!)

Beading is fun, and a small bump in the road shouldn't dampen that! If you need help, come on in! That's what your local bead store is all about!

Re: [pugdog] WOW have things changed! [In reply to] Can't Post

I should have the pictures on-line soon. We spent the last few days making some more *MAJOR* rearrangements, and so far, the customers comments are very positive. We opened up more floor space, and will have a show case area for the dollhouses. Marie and I will have better work areas to hide our stuff, and the beads areas will have more running space (linear feet) of access.

The workstations are almost all set up. We should have the central ones set up by tomorrow, and the work station area should follow by the end of the week.

Each work station is a library study carol, with a small top shelf, and about 26x40 of working area. Lighting is still an issue, but we are working on it. Each has two compartmented bead trays, and will have it's own bead board. If I can find the time this week, I'll frame out the mail boxes, and set them up as storage areas. The boxes are about 4x4x16, large enough to hold your tools, work in progress, and such. Some people prefer to use their own tools, or to keep special items around. The boxes will be available for that. They will also let you keep class materials in the shop between classes. Not everyone has a beadable area at their home, or a bead stash they can draw upon. Our workstations have proven very popular for that group. Our entire bead shop is available to pick from, and the individual areas allow you to work in semi-private, but still get help, and not be "alone".

Our late hours -- at least until 8pm Tues-Saturday also seem to be popular with the after-work crowd.

We have not had much demand for morning hours, but we may be opening early on Saturdays again through Labor Day, with easy beading classes -- macrame, simple stringing, earrings, and such, targeted at new beaders and kids.

Stay tuned!
