Black Friday Bling!! -- Continues This Thursday Can't Post

Actually, our Black Friday Bling was very successful!

When paired up with the trunk show the week before, it showed that even in (especially in?) this economy, there was a need for a true wholesale source for beads and jewelry making supplies in Pittsburgh!

So, we're stepping up to the plate.

We'll be open this Thursday Dec 18th, from 5pm-8pm, and saturday the 20th, from 10am to 4pm. We will *TRY* to be open on tues/wed morning before Christmas (but *ONLY* by appointment!! ) If you need to get us, leave a PM (Private Message) here. It's your last chance to get the beads you need, at the best prices in town! We will probably *NOT* be open after Christmas, between Christmas and New Years, but starting in January, we will be open on Thursday evenings from 5-8pm, and ONE saturday a month. Other times by appointment. Stay tuned.

We have gotten about 80% of our inventory out of storage, and have most of the strands up on the walls now. The old back corner is now color/size coded, and it looks a little like a psychedelic rainbow. So, the bulk of the go-with beads are now up, as well as the higher-end, better grade, and sometimes totally unique beads. The rocks/minerals/etc are being packed away, so there will be more room and display case space for beads/gemstones/etc.

As part of our switch to wholesale-only, we are trying to get in cost-effective lower/mid range beads to use as spacers or even focal beads on lower-end, more mass-market jewelry that is the staple of most jewelry makers. We can use our buying power to get in strands at seriously discounted prices, that you can pick/choose and not have to rely on some random pick or assortment by mail. We will be selling whole-strands only, except for some higher end, and focal type beads, which we will sell individually or in sets. We are *NOT* going to do retail, or compete in the same consumer market as the other bead shops in town. In fact, we'd be more than happy to sell to them, or through them.

We've added a bunch of very lower end beads for the "commercial" grade jewelry maker. This grade of bead would be considered "seconds" in sizing/cut, but is often of the same A through B- grades of "material/color" as the 1sts, but at a fraction of the price! If you need color and size, more than uniformity, these beads are a great alternative to much more expensive strands. They work well for the casual/trendy jewelry that is popular today. We have a selection of beautiful materials from clear and snow quartz to brecciated and red jaspers, snowflake obsidian, serpentine, and unakite in 4, 6, 8 mm and chips. Selection varies, and you don't need to purchase a bunch of 10 or 12 strands of each type/size to get the discounts! Prices are as low as $2.5-$3 a strand, and almost all are under $6 -- with similar materials/sizes we have on the other walls going for $12 to $18! These are a great deal, but we have to buy them in quantity, and only when they are available, so don't miss out. (additional discounts may be available for large purchases)

We also have made some very nice "kits" for that hard-to-please beader, that range from seed beads to corals and pearls. These are all items from our retail business, the loose beads, the pick-beads, the various open cups and cut strands we've collected over the years, that are out of place in the wholesale aspect. We are packaging them in kits, and many are still available at great discounts in individual packages.

We also have a *nice* selection of sterling silver pendents with all sorts of gemstones, modern and vintage, some with ancient Roman glass, ready to put on a chain of your choice for a simple, more traditional sentiment.

We still have a bunch of the gemstone animal carvings in the under $10 range, and some gift-priced (higher end) carvings for a special gift, or place on a mantle, in a den, or decorative shelf.

Remember, we can offer mail-order/Internet prices, in a more retail setting, and *can* save you money (time and effort) over ordering by mail. If you use certain items in bulk -- Swarovski, precious metal rounds or findings, headpins, etc -- we *CAN* save you money, and keep items on hand for that emergency need. You may never have to pay retail, or shipping charges, even in an emergency, ever again!

While the local retail bead shop can provide many services to the average beader, and even advanced jewelry maker, only a Wholesaler really understands the needs of those who make and sell jewelry, from the frustrations of finding supplies at affordable prices, to not tying up cash by having to order all sorts of items you don't need [now] in order to get the "discounts". We can search out materials that inspire you -- and that we know you have an eye or desire for. When we find a great deal on beads or gemstones, we can select the items we know YOU will want, and target our buying power more directly. By spreading the "costs" over a large number of people and orders, we can keep both overhead and purchasing costs as low as possible. By not doing retail, we don't incurr the very high costs of running a store that is open 40-60 hours a week, and the staffing that needs to go with it. We can be open 10 hours, and by appointment. All this savings gets passed on to the wholesale/bulk customer. Yes, you may need to adjust your "impulsiveness" a little, but the savings are seriously worth it!

If you *think* you are saving money by dealing on-line, you *really* need to talk with us. It's your business, and we understand it.

The more you shop with us, the more we can shop for you - and save you! That is OUR business.

Happy Holidays! Whichever you choose to enjoy.
